Mission of the Stroll Through History, Inc.
The mission of The Stroll Through History, Inc. is to enhance the awareness and appreciation of the history and architecture of the City of Woodland, California as a celebration of our unique heritage for the benefit of the entire community.
The Stroll Through History Committee will accomplish this by organizing and presenting an annual community event, called the Stroll Through History. This event will include:
- Displays of historical farm equipment, autos, trucks and fire equipment, as well as other historical displays
- Free walking tours of our historic downtown and residential neighborhoods
- Free family entertainment
- Interior tours of a group of historic homes for which a ticket charge is made
- Other events and activities that enhance the atmosphere of experiencing the rich agricultural and social history of Woodland
The Stroll Through History, Inc. will use the funds raised through:
- Various ticket sales
- Sales of souvenirs promoting the event
- Individual and corporate sponsorships
- Sales of vendor space
- Sales of advertising in event literature
to present and improve the Stroll Through History event, to fund historical projects and to fund grants to other non-profit organizations for projects that will further our mission.
The Stroll Through History, Inc. has no paid employees. This event is made possible entirely through the efforts of volunteers. The Stroll Through History Committee would like to thank the City of Woodland and the hundreds of volunteers who have given, and continue to give, their time and effort to make this event the success it is today.

Getting to the Woodland Stroll Through History is easy. Most events start at the corner of Main and Second Street in historic downtown Woodland. There is plenty of safe, off-street parking in a variety of public parking lots around the downtown area.
From Sacramento - take I-5 North to the Main Street exit. Turn left and continue one mile to downtown Woodland.
From the Bay Area / Dixon-Vacaville area- take I-80 East to Highway 113 North (Woodland Exit). Continue 9 miles to the Main Street Exit. Turn left and continue one mile to the downtown area.

History of the Woodland Stroll
Lloyd Ingraham was one of the original founders of the Woodland Stroll Through History.
In the Spring of 1988 Lloyd and Ida Ingraham opened their Victorian home at 620 Cross Street as a fund raiser of the staging of the first Stroll which took place that Fall.

Heritage Home Awards
The Heritage Home Award is presented annually in the spring to five homes. Awards are given to owners of architectually and historically significant homes that have been well maintained and cared for over a period of years. .

Art Project
The Stroll Through History sponsors an Art competition in cooperation with various High School Art departments and Woodland Community College. Students compete in the selection of artwork used for the Stroll Poster Home and T-Shirt design. Coming soon!
