Stroll Through History to offer afternoon “Valley Jewel” Bus Tour
Beat the afternoon heat and join historian David Wilkinson, author of “Crafting a Valley Jewel: the Architects & Builders of Woodland”, and preservation architect Roger Klemm on a fascinating Stroll Through History bus tour showcasing Woodland’s exceptional architectural history. The 1.5 hour tour in the comfort of an air conditioned tour bus, will trace the full spectrum of Woodland’s architecture and history spanning 152 years. Beginning with the early pioneer houses, including town founder Frank & Gertrude Freeman’s first home built in 1857 when Woodland was called “Yolo City”, participants will cruise through beautiful neighborhoods and learn the story behind houses and neighborhoods from the Victorian era through the 20th century and into the modern period. Relax, enjoy and learn how and why Woodland is indeed a Valley Jewel. Free raffle drawing for prizes and other surprises await passengers.
Tour times are 1:30 and 3:30 PM. Tickets cost $10 and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Only 98 tickets will be sold (49 for each tour). Buy your tickets now to reserve your seat on the bus!
