  • Walking Tour Descriptions: Walking tours are a fun way to spend a Stroll Through History afternoon. Local Docents will give walking tours from 8:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.

  • Open Homes Tour: Here are the homes that will be featured in the 2005 Stroll Through History Open Homes Tour. Home Tours are between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.


  • Vintage Base Ball: The 2005 Stroll Through History will feature Vintage Base Ball. Fun for the whole family! Find out more about Vintage Base Ball on this Web site.


  • While "Strolling Through History," Enjoy a Lunch at the Library. On Saturday, September 10, 2005, the members of Chapter FI of the P.E.O. Sisterhood in Woodland will be hosting ”Lunch at the Library”. Come join us for a delicious lunch under the shade of the oak and palm trees and listen to the music of Lenore Heinson as we celebrate Woodland’s Seventeenth Annual Stroll Through History. This event will be an old fashioned Box Lunch Social held from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the lawn in front of Woodland’s Carnegie Library. The library is celebrating its 100th anniversary and is the featured Building in this year’s Stroll.

    The P.E.O. Sisterhood is a philanthropic and educational organization founded in 1869 at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. There are over 5,000 chapters and 250,000 active members in the United States and Canada. We are a non-profit organization whose purpose is bringing women greater opportunities for higher education. These opportunities are available to women through various local, state and international projects in the form of loans, grants and scholarships. These projects are: The Educational Loan Fund, Cottey College, International Peace Scholarship, Program for Continuing Education, the prestigious Scholar Award, plus numerous local, state and national scholarships to Cottey College. All proceeds of this luncheon will benefit these projects.

The Stroll Through History will be held on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2005 in Woodland, California.

The 2005 Stroll Through History was dedicated to John Prescott McMahan. John was a longtime volunteer of this annual event and will be dearly missed.


Join the fun and experience the rich history of Woodland at this year's event to be held on Saturday, September 10, 2005. Activities include; Open home tours of beautiful classic homes, free guided Walking tours of historic neighborhoods, free musical entertainment, antique market and crafts fair, a pancake breakfast, antique vehicle displays, horse and carriages, period costumes, train rides, and much more!
