For the second year in a row, the Woodland Farmer’s Market will be held in conjunction with the Stroll through History. Unlike other shopping experiences or other Farmers Markets, The Woodland Farmer’s Market is a source of homegrown community- a place where friends and neighbors meet, a place where children play, and a place where you know the names and stories of the vendors who supply your food.
This 2009 season promises to be an exciting one. Even more new vendors with new products will be there. We’ll see mushrooms and cheese, meats and prepared foods. New restaurants will participate bringing their cuisine. And of course, our regular vendors will be there. The Tomato Man, the Melon Lady, the folks with the delicious eggs, flowers, strawberries, lettuce and greens, carrots and more… all part of The Woodland Farmer’s Market 2009 summer season.
History of The Woodland Farmer’s Market:
In 1996, a small group of family farmers got together and opened The Woodland Farmer's Market in the parking lot of the County Fair Mall. But after 11 years at this location, with the support of many city agencies, The Woodland Farmer's Market moved to the shady, family friendly Freeman Park on Main St. between 4th and 6th streets. This new location features a big white gazebo for performances, a playground perfect for kids and plenty of nearby street parking.
Where to park at The Woodland Farmer’s Market:
Street parking is along the side streets of Fourth and Sixth Streets, and is most plentiful along Court Street. Patrons are also invited to park in the Rainbow Car Sales parking lot on Main St.
