New Mission for old Fire Station

The Woodland Fire Volunteer Support Branch will have the grand opening of the newly established local Fire Museum at 532 Court Street, the site of the original Fire Station No.1.

Woodland’s antique fire fleet started by restoring Woodland’s first fire engine, an 1874 Clapp & Jones horse drawn steam power fire engine which will be on display. Other fire engines to be displayed will be the community’s first motorized fire engine built in 1923, a very rare 1915 Seagrave fire engine and a 1952 GMC/Van Pelt. Thanks in part to generous grants from the Stroll through History, these four fire apparatus have been totally restored and are now maintained by the Volunteer Support Branch and will be on permanent display for the public to view.

The museum will be open on Stroll Day from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
