2007 Heritage Home Awards
Owners of historic homes in Woodland have received Heritage Home Awards for restoring or preserving these important pieces of the community.
The Historical Preservation Commission presents these awards each year to recognize owners of well-maintained historic homes, to educate the public about the city's historic past and foster an appreciation of its historic homes and buildings.
Historical Commission
The is composed of seven members appointed by the City Council. The Commission considers applications for non-residential Historical Districts and Historical Landmarks. They also review building permits authorizing demolition or exterior alterations, additions or modifications to designated historic buildings. The Historic Commission has instituted a program of awarding Heritage Home Awards to individuals who do an outstanding job of maintaining and/or restoring their historic homes.
Heritage Home Awards
The Heritage Home Award is presented annually in the spring to five homes. Awards are given to owners of architecturally and historically significant homes that have been well maintained and cared for over a period of years. The award is honorary and recognizes the home as a special community resource. Each property owner(s) is given an oval bronze plaque that lists the year of construction and a Certificate of Recognition.
