Children’s Pet Parade
2008 is the 20th Annual Woodland Stroll through History but the first time for the Children’s Pet Parade starting at the farmer’s market located in Freeman Park (with the big white bandstand gazebo) on Main Street at 5th Street.
All ages of children and all types of pets are eligible for the Free Children’s Pet Parade. There is no advance registration and no pictures of either children or pets are required for entry. Goody bags will be available for each Children’s Pet Parade participant until supplies run out. Costumes for children and pets are encouraged, but are not required to participate in the parade.
Children who wish to participate in the Pet Parade should be in Freeman Park with their pets before 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2008 to sign up. Free parking is available on Main Street and on Court Street and on side streets.
The Parade starts at the Gazebo Bandstand in Freeman Park at 9:30 a.m. and proceeds through the Park and down Main Street to the Opera House at 2nd and Main Streets. The Parade will be filmed by the WAVE Woodland’s local public access television station for showing on television at a later date.
Each child who signs up to participate will receive a parade prize ticket good for a chance at the donated prizes. The winners will be selected by drawing their tickets at the Heritage Plaza Main Stage when the Pet Parade reaches the end of its route next to the Opera House at 2nd and Main Streets.
All children who come to the Freeman Park are eligible for the free face painting, balloon animals, and other activities even if they have no pet.
